This time of year so many people are looking to radically lose weight and unfortunately tend to opt for quick fix diet plans or training regimes. As a trainer I turn potential clients away that are looking at quick fixes as I want my client base to be interested in staying healthy and fit longer term.
Quick fixes can work in the short term but lead many people to become yo-yo dieters and their weight/body fat percentage tends to fluctuate massively through the years.
When I first meet potential clients I tell them that my training and coaching is all about getting into the best shape of your life but keeping it off. No fad diets or training regimes which long term can do more damage to your body. I try to find a way of finding foods that are healthy and good for YOUR body. I also aim to find ways of eating which you enjoy. Therefore this makes an eating structure that you find easy to stick to.
With exercise it is a mattter of finding the way of training that suits your body and goals you have. Long standing injuries etc also need to be taken into account. Training should be varied and structured to fit around your lifestyle.
With the above in mind and if you want it enough, a fitter healthier you is easily attainable. Don't become one of the many this time of year that fall for the quick fix. Think long term.
